According to Tencent news on 25th July quoted from the foreign news, Apple is gaining retribution from the comprehensive marketing in India. Indian market has always been underappreciated but now it’s becoming one of the a few markets that is pushing forward iPhone sales.

With the decrease tendency of iPhone sales in Greater China Region, India is gradually becoming an important market for increasing iPhone sales. Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has pointed out in the third quarter teleconference, iPhone is selling good in some parts of the global emerging market which includes India.

Cook said, “ iPhone’ s year-on year sales in India has increased over 300%.” Yet he hadn’t published the detail sales data.  Apple’s press spokesman said that Apple wouldn’t published Indian shipment of the third quarter.

In accordance with the local market research company Cybermedia Research, the third quarter from April to June, Apple has shipped as many as 205,000 iPhones to India, which is tripled than that of last year same period 72,000, and increase by 41% compared to the second quarter.

Tarun Pathak, analyst from Cybermedia Research, who has been long tracking Indian’s mobile device market, has pointed out that iPhones sales soar in India mostly is benefited from Apple’s powerful marketing advertising.

This April, Apple has launched the “change old to new” promotion. Anyone who possesses an old smart phone includes iPhone, Android and Blackberry could offset 7,000 RS(about $117) for purchasing an 8GB iPhone. And for buying 16GB iPhone4 could offset at least 8000RS. Currently 8GB and 16GB iPhone4 sell respectively 26,500RS and 31,800RS in India.

Since distributing cost was quite high in Indian market, Apple still believed that other markets had more potential than Indian market in 2012. But finally, Apple took the right decision and started to massively promote. In addition, Apple has launched cooperation with Indian electronic products distributors Ingram Micro Inc. and Redington Ltd., hoping to seize more iPhone retail market. Previously, Apple sold data binding iPhone only with a few Indian mobile operators.

Earlier this year, Apple also attracted users by purchasing iPhone zero interest rate installment promotion. Users share a period of 6-12 months zero interest rate installment favor to pay the rest payment.
